There are several different quality levels for a shower curtain. If you are looking for something simple and inexpensive, you may be looking for something of a plastic variety, that can be wiped down and dried off with little or no work involved. If you are looking for something a little bit fancier, you may want to choose something with a nice heavy duty fabric that is going to give an aesthetically pleasing look, and pair it with a basic clear plastic curtain liner that will keep the fabric clean, dry and protected.

You can choose shower curtains that keep the water in your shower and not on the bathroom floor, or you can choose something that looks pretty but needs to be washed and dried often. It is important to keep in mind when picking a shower curtain that if you choose something that is made of a heavy fabric, it may hold on to moisture, even if you do use a plastic liner on the inside of it. Steam can cause condensation to build up which over time can produce a breathing hazard if mold were to develop.

The choice you make about what shower curtain to buy really depends on what price level you are looking at, how much work you want to put into maintaining your shower curtain, what type of style and materials you are interested in, and whether or not you want a functional shower curtain or one that is just there for looks.
